If you haven’t noticed this about me, I hyper-analyze everything. 😂 The good and the bad all get set under the microscope for dissecting.
Did I conquer my assignments? Why did it work, and how can I sustain the pattern.
Did I get overly distracted by my phone? Then what checks can I establish to remain on track during my work blocks.
Analyzing how your brain works can lead to many self-discoveries, which—when harnessed well—will empower your understanding to develop strategies for scaleable success.
As business owners, we want sustainability. Not only in finances, but also with our time, creativity, and energy levels.
But here’s the most profitable nugget I learned about sustainable time management:
Consistency is the word of the hour for many as they seek to maximize their time and increase their output.
However, no one can remain consistent if they are not first disciplined.
Why does discipline matter?
Discipline ensures you do what’s best, not what’s easy.
Discipline partners with you to lock up the phone and avoid the mindless scroll through the dumpster fires of social media. ( 👀 not that I would be guilty or anything. 😉)
Discipline gets you out of bed on time.
Discipline positions you to rule over your flesh, refusing to allow emotions to dictate your future.
You get it. Discipline is an essential skill to master. (Yet it’s tough for creatives due to how high our emotions run.)
With discipline, we have a greater chance to scale and soar.
Without it, would be like doing business on that hamster wheel I mentioned. Don’t bother looking over your shoulder to check your progress. That hamster wheel gets you nowhere.
My friend, may this heart chat remind you to surrender to the gentle leading of the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to help you dethrone your flesh so that your spirit can operate with passion and focus.
The Holy Spirit loves to help us in our weaknesses (ref. Romans 8:26) because the Lord knows we cannot do anything without Him.
Beautiful creative, being disciplined or consistent isn’t something you can do on your own. Your flesh actively rebels against such concepts.
Work is hard. Faith is hard.
There’s a reason Jesus says to abide in Him. Because He knows our flesh will fight against our spirits.
Do not be ashamed of your dependency upon Him. If anything, celebrate it!
With Him, you can accomplish and fulfill your God-given callings.
Share His voice. Share your creative work. Let’s change the world for His glory.
You may not see the fruit this side of eternity, but your diligent persistence will produce a harvest.
Keep at it, my friend. May the warmth of the Father’s love be tangible in your day as you journey with Him.
